Bruce Area Library Director – Bruce, WI

The Bruce Area Library seeks a well-organized and energetic leader to direct the operations of their library. The library is part of the MORE system which is a consortium of libraries in Western Wisconsin sharing resources totaling more than a million items.

The village of Bruce is a rural community located in north-central Wisconsin. The village is located near the Blue Hills and is home to excellent year-round recreational opportunities including fishing, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, ATV riding and much more. We are proud of our excellent school system and beautiful library facility.

Responsibilities: The Library Director reports to an 8-member Board of Trustees and is responsible for the overall management of the library. Essential duties include building and maintaining our collection, managing the library budget, supervising and scheduling volunteers, promoting the library, providing IT assistance to the public, offering children’s visits, book clubs, and community service and performing other duties to enhance our library.

Qualifications: 54 semester credits, half of which shall be in the liberal arts and sciences, at an accredited college, university or technical school. Candidates must be eligible for Wisconsin Grade III certification. Two or more years of library experience or its business equivalent preferred, or previous community involvement in the area.

Hours: 30 hours per week
